The Concerts on the Lawn series at the Grand Traverse Pavilions is a great way to kick off the weekend. Now in its 13th year, the Concerts on the Lawn series attracts thousands of listeners for weekly open-air concerts by some of the area's best-known performers. Concerts, from 7 to 8 p.m., are free but a goodwill offering is taken to help pay for musicians and a soundstage specialist and to benefit the Pavilions' senior programs and services. Concessions, including hot dogs and Moomers ice cream, are available for picnic dinners before each concert, adding to the family-friendly climate.
